Catholic Hour Discussion Group
This is an adult discussion group that meets once a month, usually on the first Saturday morning. The focus of the group is to provide a means for adults to learn more about the Catholic Faith. This is accomplished by using selected video and audio education programs along with lively discussion. The program is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and is Parish supported. All Adult members of the Christ, Prince of Peace community are invited to participate. This discussion group has been meeting for over 10 years and has reviewed the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and read and discussed various books by Father Oscar Lukefahr on the subjects of our Catholic Faith and Holy Scripture. We are currently viewing (through 2013) a Video Education Series titled, The History of the Catholic Church. Future programs will include a Video program titled The Popes and The Papacy.

Children's Church
Children’s Church is a Sunday morning preschool program designed for 3 year olds through Kindergarten. It takes place during the 9:45 AM Mass in the church basement.
There is no registration or fee required and children may attend whenever they are able, they need not be present every week.
We incorporate the current Sunday gospel reading, and other things happening in church (Sign of Peace, The Lord’s Prayer, etc.) through music, sharing discussion, simple crafts and play.

Children's Liturgy of the Word
This program is offered every Sunday morning at the 9:45 AM Mass to grades 1 through 4. Children are dismissed from church after the opening prayer to walk to either the Sacristy or Meditation Room to hear the readings proclaimed in a manner conducive to childrens' understanding.
The Word of God is opened and shared by Ministers of the Word. These Ministers are parents and parishioners who love God, can read the Bible, and make God’s Word come alive for the children.
There is a training session to give ministers some ideas and resources to work with as they prepare.

Vacation Bible School
This program is for 3 years old through sixth grade. We meet for one week during the summer from 9:00 AM to noon. We invite the sixth graders through college age students to volunteer to be crew leaders and we look for adults to help organize and work the various activities throughout the week.
We focus on a central theme and learn a new Bible story, Bible Memory verse and Bible point each day through all of our stations (art, games, snacks, singing and Bible story).
Vacation Bible School is a wonderful example of our parish family working together. Come be a part of it!
