The Adopt - A - Family Program offers parishioners several opportunities to participate in this Christmas outreach program for our sister parish, St. Margaret of Scotland.
This is a long-standing program and there are multiple ways to participate. You may participate by adopting a family or senior citizen on your own from the list suggested by St. Margaret of Scotland parish.
You may make a cash donation to the Adopt -A -Family program to purchase Shop & Save certificates for families served by the food pantry that do not get adopted by someone.
You may participate in the Advent "Giving Tree“ found in the gathering space during Advent.
Seasons of Hope offers anyone mourning the loss of a loved one an opportunity to come together to share in God's love. With the support of the faith community, we can give voice to our unique journeys of grief and find healing and spiritual growth. Seaons of Hope sessions help us explore mourning through scripture, prayer, reflection activities and faith sharing.
You can download the brochure on the left hand side under "Get Involved".

The “Giving Tree” is placed in the gathering space of the church during Advent and is decorated with different colored ornaments. Each ornament lists a specific gift or item that the family or individual adopted by the parish for the Christmas season has requested.
Items include food, clothing, household items and gift suggestions.
Parishioners are encouraged to take one or more ornaments, purchase the items, and return them under the “Giving Tree” before the deadline for delivery.
Helping Hands is a ministry to provide assistance to parishioners in time of need. A health issue, a lost job, or a death in the family, are just some of the reasons why one might need immediate or longer term assistance.
Answering this call is part of our mission as a parish. Helping Hands seeks to recruit parishioners who are willing to reach out and provide this assistance.
Roles include: grocery shopping, transportation to doctor’s appointments or to Mass, grass cutting, handyman work, meal preparation, baby sitting and basic companionship.

This delightful ministry to the elderly assists the residents of West County Care Nursing Home in Bingo on the first Wednesday of the month, September through May from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Bingo prizes - boxes of Kleenex, toiletries, stamps and stationery, gifts cards to local stores, costume jewelry, etc., are always needed.
There is a marked basket located in the gathering space in the back of church for donations throughout the year. The 8th grade students from Christ, Prince of Peace assist the hearing and sight impaired residents with Bingo.
All parishioners are invited to participate and would be a most welcome addition each month in these visits to the home.
At Christmas, each resident is given a gift collected at the Ladies League Christmas Dinner, and donations made from our parishioners are most welcome.
Several times a year additional workers are needed to help with mailings and simple clerical duties.

Our parish provides assistance to the food pantry operated through St. Margaret of Scotland in St. Louis City. The center is located at 3120 Lafayette. We collect nonperishable food items, personal care items, and monetary donations at all Masses the second Sunday of each month. There are marked baskets in the gathering space of the Church where donations can be made.
During the Christmas season, our parish and school sponsors many families from the center and provides groceries and gift certificates for them through our Adopt-A-Family program.
Three times each year our Knights of Columbus organization collects and delivers garage sale items donated by our parishioners. Our sister parish then has a garage sale to benefit the food pantry.
Christ, Prince of Peace is one of the many parishes in the area that supplies hot lunches to the homeless at St. Patrick’s Center.
We are responsible for the first Monday and the third Tuesday of every month as well as the first Thursday of every even month.
The casseroles need to be delivered to the Christ, Prince of Peace school cafeteria by 12:00 noon on the Wednesday preceding the first Thursday.
An easy recipe for a beef stew casserole and an aluminum pan will be provided. You can purchase the ingredients, prepare the casserole, freeze it, and deliver it to the cafeteria any time before the due date.
This is a wonderful opportunity to truly follow Christ’s command to feed His hungry.
The aim of the St. Vincent de Paul Society is to bring the friendship of true charity to all those in need. All calls are made in pairs to avoid scandal and to help the recipients feel more at ease.
Persons to be aided are to be met “on an equal basis,” at their level, never looking down on them and always with the thought that they are our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Regular meetings are held on the second Monday of each month. The business of the meetings is strictly confidential.
No special qualifications are required to be a member; anyone willing to lend a hand is welcome.
