Go Ahead, Get Involved!
Adoration
The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for Adoration from 12:00 noon to 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday in the Reservation Chapel. All are welcome and encouraged to spend an hour in quiet reflection. Please sign up for a specific time with coordinator.
Athletic Association
A steering committee, officers, committee chairpersons and a priest moderator govern The Association. The Association administers sporting programs for the youth and adult members. More than 160 parishioners participate as coaches for the teams that we sponsor. The Association contributes significantly to the upkeep of the gym and field.
Brownies/Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts is an adventure in fun and friendship for all girls ages 5 - 17. There are five program levels that offer a wide variety of exciting activities to help girls learn and grow.

Cantors
Leaders of song cantor at each of the parish's Saturday 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and noon liturgies. Those willing to share their talents and gifts in this ministry learn and rehearse the music for each liturgy and are scheduled by the Music Director of the parish.
Carnival Workers
A parish event held in May with a festive family atmosphere featuring games, rides, food, shows, raffles and more.
Children's Church
This program for children ages 3 through Kindergarten takes place during the 9:00 a.m. Mass Sunday mornings. Adults and youth lead the children in learning about the readings, by taking part in singing, simple projects and interactive discussion.
Choirs
The parish has three choirs in which new members are always welcome: an adult choir, a children's choir (grades 2 - 5) and a teen choir (grades 6 and up). The adult choir and children's choir alternate singing at the Sunday 9:00 a.m. liturgy. The teen choir sings monthly at either a Saturday 5:00 p.m. or Sunday 10:30 a.m. liturgy. The choirs also sing at various parish feasts throughout the year. All choirs rehearse weekly in the church and are directed by the parish Music Director.
Church Cleaning
Every Friday/Saturday morning there are people who help clean and arrange the books in the pews. Once or twice a year there is a general cleaning of the Church.
Cub Scouts
The Cub Scout program is for the boys of the parish from first through fifth grades. Cub Scout Pack 630 meets monthly on the third Thursday in the school cafeteria. Activities include hayrides, campfires, Pinewood Derby, skating parties, Webelos Camp, Day Camp, swim parties and others.

Boy Scouts
Boy Scout Troop 630 is for the young men of the parish. Membership is open to any young man who is eleven years old or has completed the fifth grade, and has not yet reached his 18th birthday. The aims of the program are citizenship, character and physical and mental fitness. The troop meets on scheduled Monday evenings in the school cafeteria.

Venturers
Venture Crew 630 is for all young men and women of the parish. Membership is open to young men and women age 14 through 21. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to be responsible and caring adults. The emphasis of our Venture Crew is High Adventure. Activities include whitewater rafting, camping, canoeing, rappelling, scuba diving, shooting and marksmanship, skiing, snorkeling - just about any high adventure activity upon which the group decides. The crew meets on scheduled Thursday evenings in the church basement.

Elderly Helpers
These are people who are able to help an elderly person in the parish in whatever capacity that they have the time to assist.
Eucharistic Ministers
These men and women help distribute Holy Communion at the daily and weekend liturgies.
Fifty Plus Club
This group gathers for social and spiritual activities aimed specifically for those members of the parish over fifty years of age
Funeral Luncheons
These are people who make a dish for the lunch after the funeral of a parishioner. The basement of the Church is available to be used for this occasion.
Gardening
Parishioners are needed to help with the landscaping of the parish property and upkeep of the flowers and shrubs.
Help Line Worker
Parishioners willing and able to assist in almost any need serve on the Parish Help Line. These parishioners provide transportation for medical assistance, meals when circumstances warrant, babysitting and help in general when needed. Please do not hesitate to call. The most current numbers are published on the front of the Sunday bulletin each week.
Junior High Group
The Junior High Group meets as often as necessary to enjoy each other's company and plan activities. Activities include service projects and social activities.
Knights of Columbus
Knights of Columbus is a well-known Catholic men's group. They meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month in the cafeteria of Christ, Prince of Peace.

Ladies Ambassadors Club
The purpose of the Ladies Ambassadors Club is to assist the priests of Christ, Prince of Peace Parish in lay service. The group provides for cleaning of the Church, sending letters and making calls to welcome new parishioners, organizing the parish blood drive, assisting a nearby nursing home, collecting and donating food and used items for members of our sister parish, Immaculate Conception/St. Henry, communicating national and diocesan Pro-Life information to members of the parish and organizing spiritual and social activities. There are no dues. Just talk to someone already participating and get involved! All activities and events are noted in the church bulletin throughout the year. Lectors
Lectors are parishioners who share their gift of proclaiming God's written Word at the parish liturgies. Those who feel called to share in this ministry should contact the parish Liturgy Director.
Liturgy Committee
This committee is a group of parishioners who meet monthly (on the 3rd Monday) to plan and schedule parish ministries and liturgies including parish missions, Christmas, Holy Week/Easter, Maranatha (Advent Evening Prayer), and much more as well as preparing the church decorations for parish celebrations.
Liturgy of the Word for Children
This program is offered every Sunday morning at the 9:00 and 10:30 Masses to grades 1 through 4. Children are dismissed from church after the opening prayer to hear the readings proclaimed in a manner conducive to children's understanding. The Word of God is opened and shared by Ministers of the Word. These Ministers are parents are parishioners who love God, can read the Bible, and make God's Word come alive for the children. There is a training session to give ministers some ideas and resources to work with as they prepare the lessons.
Men's Catechism
An informal men's get-together to read our Catechism and study and discuss tenets of our Faith. Men lead their own discussion on the 1st Saturday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the rectory basement. Just show up, and if you have one, bring a Catechism.
Nursing Home Visitors
This ministry to the elderly is truly delightful, visiting the West County Nursing Home on the 1st Wednesday September through May from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The Ladies Ambassadors Club collects boxes of Kleenex, toiletries, jewelry, candies, etc. at their monthly meetings for Bingo prizes. All parishioners are invited to participate and would be a most welcome addition each month at the home. During the school year students from Christ, Prince of Peace School help by bringing the wheelchair confined residents to the room and assisting the sight or hearing impaired residents with Bingo.
Oktoberfest
An annual parish event with a festive atmosphere featuring live entertainment, a barbeque dinner, activities for adults and children and more. A great way to meet fellow parishioners!
Parent Teacher Organization (for Parish School)
This organization's primary purpose is to plan and implement educational, financial and social activities for the members of the school community. The PTO encourages parental involvement in the school and provides assistance and support to the principal and faculty to ensure an effective and positive educational environment focusing on Christian principles. Active PTO committees include fundraising, liturgy, plant improvement, playground, publications, room mothers, social, uniform and volunteers.
Parent Teacher Advisory Board (for PSR)
The PSR has a committee of parents and teachers that serve in an advisory capacity and meet with the Pastor and DRE once a month to plan, evaluate and assess needs and ways to implement changes and improvements.
Parish Council
The Parish Council works in cooperation with the Pastor and the total parish in setting policy and establishing goals, objectives and action plans. Commissions are established as the core of the Parish Council. They provide a vehicle for participation in order to enable as many parishioners as possible to share their talents and faith in carrying out specific objectives.
Parish School of Religion
This religious education program is for children (Grades 1 through 8) who attend a public school and are in need of religious instruction and Sacrament preparation.
Prayer Line Circle
The prayer line consists of a group of your fellow parishioners who will pray for any intentions you may have. If you have a need for prayer or would like to join our prayer line, please call one of the phone numbers that are printed weekly on the front of the Sunday bulletin.
Pro-Life Committee
Our involvement in the efforts of the Archdiocesan Pro-Life Office includes insertion of the Pro-Life Profile Newsletter in the Church bulletin every other month, Blessing of Expectant Families twice a year, Roses for Life for those expecting a baby, awaiting an adoption or waiting to be blessed with a child, 1st Saturday rosary, the spiritual adoption program, and various other means to defend and protect unborn children in danger of abortion and promote a general respect for life.
Rite of Christian Initiation
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults helps a person never baptized, baptized in another Christian tradition, or those baptized as Catholic but not raised as Catholic. The process helps them better understand the Catholic Faith. Sessions are scheduled year-round. Please call the rectory for more information.
St. Patrick Center Casseroles
Christ, Prince of Peace is one of the many parishes in the area that supplies hot lunches to the homeless at St. Patrick's Center. We are responsible for the first Monday and the third Tuesday of every month as well as the first Thursday of every even month. The casseroles need to be delivered to the Christ, Prince of Peace school cafeteria by 12:00 noon on the Wednesday before the first Thursday. An easy recipe for a beef stew casserole and an aluminum pan will be provided. You can purchase the ingredients, prepare the casserole, freeze it, and deliver it to the cafeteria any time before the due date. A reminder card will be sent. This is a wonderful opportunity to truly follow Christ's command to feed His hungry.
St. Vincent de Paul Society
The aim of the St. Vincent de Paul Society is to bring the friendship of true charity to all those in need. All calls are made in pairs to help the recipients feel at ease. Persons to be aided are met "on an equal basis," at their level, never looking down on them and always with the thought that they are our brothers and sisters in Christ. Regular meetings are held on the second and fourth Mondays of each month. The business of the meetings is strictly confidential. No special qualifications are required to be a member; anyone willing to lend a hand is welcome.
School Board
The School Board is an advisory board of nine members who, along with the principal of the school, advise the Pastor concerning the philosophy, objective, policies and budget of our school.
Servers
The Altar Servers assist at the Eucharistic celebrations of the parish on the weekdays and weekends. Boys or girls at least in fifth grade are invited to volunteer as servers. They are trained by the priests of the parish and are assigned to celebrations on a regular basis.
Sharing Sunday
As a parish, we have adopted our sister parish of Immaculate Conception/St. Henry. During the month we collect food, household supplies and monetary donations. We deliver these to our sister parish on the 2nd Sunday of the month. Three times each year we collect and deliver garage sale items for them. At Christmastime we sponsor several families through our adopt-a-family program.
Ushers
The parish ushers are those persons who exercise the liturgical ministry of hospitality. The ushers minister at regular scheduled liturgical functions. Their duties are to welcome the faithful as they enter the Church, to hand out bulletins, to seat people if needed, to answer questions, and to give directions. They are responsible for the gathering of gifts and directing the flow of communion lines.
Vacation Bible School
This program is for those 3 years old through Grade 6. We meet for one week during the summer from 9:00 a.m. to noon, and use a variety of activities to focus on one Bible story a day. We rotate through B.L.T. (Bible Learning Time), Music, Outside Activities, Snacks, and Arts and Crafts. We invite Grates 7/8 through High School to be assistants and teen helpers, and we look for adults to help organize and work on the various activity committees. It's a great way to spend some time this summer.
Women's Scripture Study
A group of women meet every Wednesday from September through May at 9:30 a.m. in the Meditation Room in church.
